The Biblioteca Universitaria di Padova is a public state library depending on the of Ministry for Cultural Heritage and for Tourism (MIBACT).

The library’s mission is to collect all the publications especially those related to Padua Province and the most important foreign works, to preserve the historical collections, and make them available to anyone according to “Regulation for the public state libraries” (D.P.R. 5 luglio 1995, n. 417).
